Your salary never leaves your browser
Every calculator on Payjoey runs entirely on your own device. Your pay, your study loan balance, your super and everything else you type are never transmitted to us and never stored by us. We could not show you your own figures back if you asked, because we never had them.
Nothing is written into the page address while you type either. When you press “Share this result”, the link encodes your inputs after a # — the fragment, which browsers keep to themselves and never send to any server, ours included. A page this site serves also clears that fragment out of the address bar before any third-party script could read it. Close the tab and the numbers are gone.
This matters more here than on most calculator sites. What you enter is your income, and on some pages your debts. It is worth being specific about where it goes: nowhere.
Analytics
No analytics are running on Payjoey at the moment and no analytics cookies are set. When that changes, this section will describe what is actually in use and this date will change with it. Whatever we add will be aggregated, will not identify you, and will never contain anything you typed into a calculator.
Advertising
No advertising is running on Payjoey yet, and no advertising cookies are set today. The rest of this section describes what will apply once it starts, and this policy will be updated at that point to name what is actually in use.
Payjoey is free and supported by advertising. Third-party advertising vendors — which may include Google and other networks we work with from time to time — may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Where your region’s law requires it, including visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent choice is presented through a Google-certified consent management platform before any advertising or analytics cookies are set, and you can decline. Advertising will not be switched on before that is in place.
You can opt out of personalised advertising across participating vendors at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.com, and through your device or browser settings. Google describes its own advertising cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Opting out does not remove ads; it stops them being personalised.
Two things advertising never does here. It never influences a calculator’s result, and no advertiser is ever told what you typed into one — we could not tell them if we wanted to.
Hosting and logs
The site is served as static files by our hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. That is ordinary infrastructure logging, it happens for every website you visit, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
If you email us we keep the correspondence, so we can reply and so we can fix anything you report. We do not add you to any list without asking, and we do not sell or share your address.
Your rights, and who to ask
Payjoey is operated from outside Australia for an Australian audience, and we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Because we hold almost nothing about you, most access and correction requests have a short answer — but if you want to know what we hold, ask and we will tell you.
Privacy questions and complaints: hello@payjoey.au. If we cannot resolve a complaint, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au can take it further.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
